    The application of workflows to digital heritage systems

    Digital heritage systems usually handle a rich and varied mix of digital objects, accompanied by complex and intersecting workflows and processes. However, they usually lack effective workflow management within their components as evident in the lack of integrated solutions that include workflow components. There are a number of reasons for this limitation in workflow management utilization including some technical challenges, the unique nature of each digital resource and the challenges imposed by the environments and infrastructure in which such systems operate. This thesis investigates the concept of utilizing Workflow Management Systems (WfMS) within Digital Library Systems, and more specifically in online Digital Heritage Resources. The research work conducted involved the design and development of a novel experimental WfMS to test the viability of effective workflow management on the complex processes that exist in digital library and heritage resources. This rarely studied area of interest is covered by analyzing evolving workflow management technologies and paradigms. The different operational and technological aspects of these systems are evaluated while focusing on the areas that traditional systems often fail to address. A digital heritage resource was created to test a novel concept called DISPLAYS (Digital Library Services for Playing with Antiquity and Shared Heritage), which provides digital heritage content: creation, archival, exposition, presentation and interaction services for digital heritage collections. Based on DISPLAYS, a specific digital heritage resource was created to validate its concept and, more importantly, to act as a test bed to validate workflow management for digital heritage resources. This DISPLAYS type system implementation was called the Reanimating Cultural Heritage resource, for which three core components are the archival, retrieval and presentation components. To validate workflow management and its concepts, another limited version of these reanimating cultural heritage components was implemented within a workflow management host to test if the workflow technology is a viable choice for managing control and dataflow within a digital heritage system: this was successfully proved

    Hesitant fuzzy linguistic DNMA method with cardinal consensus reaching process for shopping mall location selection

    The hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set is an effective tool to express qualitative evaluations since it is close to human reasoning and expressing habits. In this paper, we propose a multi-expert multi-criterion decision-making method integrating the double normalization-based multi-aggregation (DNMA) method with a cardinal consensus reaching process, where the assessments of alternatives over multiple criteria are expressed as hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets. To do so, the DNMA method involving double normalizations and three aggregation tools is extended to deal with the hesitant fuzzy linguistic information and derive the ranking of alternatives with respect to each expert. In addition, a cardinal consensus reaching process is introduced to help experts reach an acceptable consensus level. In other words, the soft consensus is considered in the multi-expert multi-criterion decision-making process. Subsequently, an extended Borda rule is developed to aggregate the subordinate ranks and integrated scores of alternatives, and then deduce the comprehensive ranking of alternatives. A case study is given to illustrate the practicability of the proposed method for selecting the optimal geographical location of a larger-scale shopping mall in the new urbanization for a construction investment agency. The proposed method is compared with other ranking methods to illustrate its advantages

    Selection third-party logistics service providers in supply chain finance by a hesitant fuzzy linguistic combined compromise solution method

    In supply chain finance, the multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problem of selecting a suitable third-party logistics (3PL) service supplier is of great significance to financial institutions. A suitable 3PL service supplier can not only help financial institutions carry out the supply chain finance business, but also can replace financial institutions to supervise the operation of a target financing supply chain, thus reducing the operational risks of financial institutions. As a useful MCDM method, the combined compromise solution (CoCoSo) method mainly combines a compromise decision algorithm with an aggregation strategy to obtain a compromise solution. This study extends the CoCoSo method to hesitant fuzzy linguistic environment to solve the multi-expert MCDM problem of the 3PL service supplier selection. Target criteria whose values are in linguistic forms are considered in the process of normalizing the decision matrix. A new integration approach with respect to subordinate compromise scores is introduced, and the subjective and objective weights of criteria are considered simultaneously in this extended process to avoid one-sidedness of criterion weights. A case study about the 3PL service supplier selection is given, in which the sensitivity analysis and comparative analysis are provided to highlight the advantages of the proposed method

    Hesitant Fuzzy Linguistic Analytic Hierarchical Process With Prioritization, Consistency Checking, and Inconsistency Repairing

    Analytic hierarchy process (AHP), as one of the most important methods to tackle multiple criteria decision-making problems, has achieved much success over the past several decades. Given that linguistic expressions are much closer than numerical values or single linguistic terms to a human way of thinking and cognition, this paper investigates the AHP with comparative linguistic expressions. After providing the snapshot of classical AHP and its fuzzy extensions, we propose the framework of hesitant fuzzy linguistic AHP, which shows how to yield a decision for qualitative decision-making problems with complex linguistic expressions. First, the comparative linguistic expressions over criteria or alternatives are transformed into hesitant fuzzy linguistic elements and then the hesitant fuzzy linguistic preference relations (HFLPRs) are constructed. Considering that HFLPRs may be inconsistent, we conduct consistency checking and improving processes after obtaining priorities from the HFLPRs based on a linear programming method. Regarding the consistency-improving process, we develop a new way to establish a perfectly consistent HFLPR. The procedure of the hesitant fuzzy linguistic AHP is given in stepwise.     Hospitality brand management by a score-based q-rung ortho pair fuzzy V.I.K.O.R. method integrated with the best worst method

    Hospitality brand management is a primary concern in the hotel industry and the evaluation of brands can be considered as a decision-making problem with multiple criteria. The evaluation information of brands may be uncertain sometimes. The q-rung orthopair fuzzy set (q-R.O.F.S.), which represents the preference degree of a person from the positive and negative aspects, has turned out to be an efficient tool in depicting uncertainty and vagueness in the decision-making process. This article dedicates to presenting an integrated multiple criteria decision-making method with q-R.O.F.S.. Firstly, a score function of the q-R.O.F.S. is proposed to solve the deficiencies of two existing score functions. Then, a weight-determining method based on the additive consistency of the preference relation is developed. A decision-making method integrating the score function, the best worst method and the VIsekriterijumska optimizacija I KOmpromisno Resenje (V.I.K.O.R.) which means multiple criteria compromise optimisation in English) method is further proposed. Finally, a case study regarding the hospitality brand management is provided to show the applicability and validity of the proposed method

    Supplier selection for housing development by an integrated method with interval rough boundaries

    Residential whole-decoration is an important initiative for housing industrialization in China. Selecting the most suitable component supplier for housing development is of great significance for both property developers and buyers in the implementation of such a strategy. To address such a problem, this study uses hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets to express the inaccurate judgments of individuals and then introduces a novel probability aggregation approach based on interval rough boundaries to enable a realistic presentation of the collective evaluations of a group. Then, we propose a hybrid multi-expert multiple criteria decision-making model by integrating the Best Worst Method (BWM) and Combined Compromise Solution (CoCoSo) method based on the interval rough boundaries. A case study about the supplier selection for housing development is carried out, which demonstrates the feasibility and applicability of our proposed hybrid model. A comparison study is also performed to further validate the robustness of the model

    A q-rung orthopair fuzzy GLDS method for investment evaluation of BE angel capital in China

    As a generalized form of both intuitionistic fuzzy set and Pythagorean fuzzy sets, the q-rung orthopair fuzzy set (q-ROFS) has strong ability to handle uncertain or imprecision decisionmaking problems. This paper aims to introduce a new multiple criteria decision making method based on the original gain and lost dominance score (GLDS) method for investment evaluation. To do so, we first propose a new distance measure of q-rung orthopair fuzzy numbers (q-ROFNs), which takes into account the hesitancy degree of q-ROFNs. Subsequently, two methods are developed to determine the weights of DMs and criteria, respectively. Next, the original GLDS method is improved from the aspects of dominance flows and order scores of alternatives to address the multiple criteria decision making problems with q-ROFS information. Finally, a case study concerning the investment evaluation of the BE angle capital is given to illustrate the applicability and superiority of the proposed method

    The influence of learning emotions on learning behaviors in college physical education is directly reflected in learning efficiency. Based on this research background, the paper applies a mathematical, statistical model to structural equation modeling of the emotional situation of students in a school's physical education curriculum. The study results found that college students have lower positive emotional attitudes towards college physical education courses. Thus, students’ mood is affected by the. For this reason, we should eliminate students’ resistance and fear of college physical education courses and promptly correct students’ unhealthy learning emotions about college physical education courses. In this way, it helps students correct their negative feelings about college physical education courses
